About us

About us

Julia Barton has changed the listening experience for millions by working with best-selling nonfiction authors to shape their writing and reporting for the ear. As Executive Editor of Pushkin Industries, she developed and edited Malcolm Gladwell’s chart-topping Revisionist History podcast, as well as Against the Rules with Michael Lewis, and historian Jill Lepore’s The Last Archive, among many other shows. A Nieman Fellow at Harvard (NF 2024), Barton writes and speaks about broadcasting history and how it applies to media today. Her consulting work takes inspiration from legendary broadcast poet, dramatist, producer and educator Norman Corwin, who said he had to coin a new word for his profession: “radio-wright.”
